I’ve been looking forward to Heather and Matt’s wedding for a long time for two reason. Heather being from Rochester, close to where I went to school, we shared endless stories about the area and getting stuck on the Inner Loop. The second reason was my fascination with Matt’s profession as an airline pilot. I think if they asked for an engagement session on the runway at JFK, I would have been happier then a little kid in a candy store.
The day started out with a blue sky and a no clouds.. What Matt and his co-workers would call VFR conditions.
Sorry Matt, I had to. After a wonderful ceremony at Our Lady of the Rosary, one of the oldest churches in NY, we ran through the family formal photographs and took some timeless photos on the grounds of the church. This church has a nicer grounds then some weddings halls!!
The party was waiting for Heather and Matt at the Grandview’s outdoor ballroom. In between sporadic downpours outside the tent, Heather and Matt had one of the most warm and heartfelt weddings I’ve ever seen. It was hard for anyone to hold back emotions when her father danced with the bride to a song he wrote for her and performed by her brother.
The night ended with a small opening in the rain for a classic photograph with the beautiful Mid-Hudson Bridge in the background.
